The first edition of YEB 2022 (Young Entrepreneur Bootcamp) started on 2nd October at BITS Pilani, Pilani Campus. Prof. Sudhirkumar Barai, Director of Pilani Campus inaugurated the event by lighting a Diya. Warmly welcoming the students he said, “BITS Pilani has been recognized as an IOE, Institute Of Eminence, by the Ministry of Education Government of India. BITS Pilani offers various programs in Science, Engineering, Technology, Economics Social Sciences, and so on. BITSians have produced 12 unicorns and 1 decacorn. More than 6,500 CEOs and more than 7,500 founders are BITSians, meaning that whatever BITSians are creating has a huge impact.
BITSians have created a great societal and entrepreneurial impact and have been social relevance citizens, that is one of the reasons based on which the USP of BITS Pilani creates the entrepreneurs, innovators.”
The ceremony was also attended by Dr. Chandra Shekhar, Advisor, Academic, Research & Innovation, BITS Pilani, Col S. Chakraborty (Retd), Registrar BITS Pilani, Prof. S K Verma, Department of Biological Sciences, and Prof. A P Singh Senior Professor, Department of Civil Engineering and Dean, Academic-Undergraduate Studies, BITS Pilani.
51 students who have arrived at the Pilani campus from all across the country will attend the Bootcamp.
During the ceremony, Prof. Barai also released the program booklet for the session which was handed over to the students.
During the first session, Dr. Chandra Shekhar, Advisor Academic, Research & Innovation talked on the topic ‘Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics the STEM of Prosperity’. In his lecture, Dr. Chandra Shekhar talked about the evolution of science and mathematics and how they became indispensable tools in the development of technologies that have transformed the world.
Mr. Sumit Nandedkar conducted the second lecture in which he discussed Risk Analysis Mitigation with the students.
